Hanger and End Caps for Afghan June 23rd to July 11th

Starting point is a block of unknown burl! Purchased to make a mystery box, but didn't have the right band saw blade on the saw until about two days after this picture.

So we start off with one of the ends! Now to make one more! I hate making matching anything on the lathe

And a bracket to hang the rod from. This is really two brackets just not cut apart

Having had the error of my design explained too me, here is the redesigned brackets. It is not going to hold the rod as far from the wall as try one did. Remember this is a unique chunk of wood that can't be matched, so bracket two HAD to be cut from bracket one!

One of the end caps. Sanded to 6000 grit, with no other finish.!

In place hung on wall. This is closer to the true colour than the other pictures because they were shot under fluorescent light.
